How to get from the Athens Airport into the city
Since we were only spending 48 hours in Athens, we opted to Uber everywhere including from the airport to our Airbnb. Even though that may seem excessive, it was truly the best way to get around considering how cheap it is! Any drive close to 15 minutes is $4 -$6! Only a dollar or two more than their metro! Definitely worth it for us!
Site seeing at the Acropolis
Before heading to the Acropolis, we shopped along all the narrow streets lined with touristy knickknacks! I wanted to find some gold bangles, but after venturing in almost every jewelry shop, I didn’t see anything I loved. As we started getting closer to the trail that leads to the Acropolis, we discovered trendy boutiques! I ended buying a top and necklace in one of the boutiques and changed into it for the rest of the day! You can check out the top and necklace in the photos!
How to get the best Instagram photo in front of the Parthenon
Since there are several different pathways that lead to the Parthenon, the area doesn’t get as crowded and allows for many private photo opportunities! As we headed to the top, we stopped along several cliff sides and took in the views as well as a few photos!
Best time of day to visit the Acropolis
We visited the Acropolis around 4PM and it was absolutely perfect weather with few crowds! After we took in all the sites, we headed out and ate at one of the touristy restaurants near the Acropolis. Even though we almost never eat in touristy places, we opted this time because we were starving and the prices didn’t seem too bad! If you’re hungry after your journey at the Acropolis, I highly recommend eating at a nearby restaurant!
