The Don CeSar Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida
Honeymooning at The Don CeSar in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida
After Jason and I’s small wedding at Hudson’s Chapel & Cellar in Winter Park, FL, we headed down to The Don CeSar Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida for our honeymoon! As a Florida native, I grew up going to The Don CeSar Hotel for special occasions, but haven’t been back in years! The mesmerizing pink palace sits waterfront along St. Pete Beach and is walking distance to many other beach side properties! Built in 1928 the iconic Pink Castle is a member of the Historic Hotels of America and maintains the finest level of luxury. If you’re a Florida resident like me, check out The Don CeSar’s website! They always have a Florida resident rate!
During our sweet mini-moon, Jason and I spent every afternoon lounging by the pool and playing in the warm ocean. Whether you’re layout by the pool or in enjoying the ocean, you have the most idyllic view of this hotel! Truly, the only vacation setting where the hotel is a bit more mesmerizing than the ocean!
Repurposing wedding florals for a photoshoot at the Don Cesar
One late afternoon, we took some of our wedding florals and made a ceremony circle on the beach to take a few photos! I mean why not? We paid for gorgeous eucalyptus garland, mini arrangements and a delicate flower crown from the Porch Therapy in Winter Park, Florida. My husband Jason takes all my photos and boy was he kind to take all of these of me! For our couple shot, we set up a tripod and it’s our go to method of taking photos together!
Restaurant Recommendations:
Although we didn’t eat at The Don CeSar’s fine dining restaurant, Maritana Grille, I totally recommend it! However, we did eat lunch by the pool one day and dined at their newly updated beach bar The Rowe Bar. Both provided high quality food with generous serving sizes! Of course, we couldn’t miss out on an late afternoon ice cream treat at Uncle Andy’s Ice Cream Parlor! Below are a few restaurants in the St. Pete area that we dined at and were very close to the hotel:
- Castile Restaurant – Mediterranean themed restaurant in Hotel Zamora with a fun rooftop bar to check out after dinner!
- Bongo Beach Bar and Grille – Beach bar restaurant with typical beach style entree items! Nice environment with beautiful views!
- Blue Fugu – Super simple Hibachi restaurant in a strip mall! Tasty, inexpensive and the perfect amount of food after a long day at the beach!
